The River Tweed

and welcome to East Braes, Coldstream.

East Braes has the distinction of being the first Bed and Breakfast in Scotland as you cross the Tweed from Cornhill.

Located on the border between Scotland and England, East Braes is an ideal location from which to tour the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland.

East Braes has outstanding uninterrupted views of the River Tweed and beyond to the Cheviot Hills and Flodden. The attractive gardens have an entrance leading to riverside walks along the banks of the Tweed.

Assured of a friendly welcome in this peaceful location, our visitors can enjoy a farmhouse-style breakfast using local produce.

East Braes is ideally suited for fishing the lower Tweed. Fishermen are very welcome and we have a secure storage facility for rods.

Those visitors who prefer other attractions will find many other interesting things to do, such as sightseeing, golf, cycling, hunting, walking and shooting to name but a few.
